If you love animals and flora and are interested to know about their special species, then Satpura National Park is the perfect place for you. This park is also known as Satpura Tiger Reserve because tigers are exclusively found here. This park is located in Hoshangabad district of Madhya Pradesh. Apart from tiger, reindeer, blackbuck, dhole, sloth bear, swamp crocodile, sambar, chital, chausingha, gaur, chinkara, leopard and other animals are also seen in this national park. Along with this, many species of birds are also found here.

This is the best time visit 

The best time to visit Satpura National Park is between October and April. Talking about safari, here you can enjoy safari from 6:30 AM to 11:00 AM in the morning and from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM in the evening. Keep in mind that between July and September, do not plan the Satpura National Park at all because during this time it is completely closed for tourists. 

Things to see near Satpura National Park

Dhupgarh Peak: It is the highest peak in Madhya Pradesh and Central India. Located in the forests of Satpura near Panchmarhi, this peak is also famous for picnics.

Bee fall: It is a waterfall which is situated near Satpura National Park. Although there are many more waterfalls in Pachmarhi, but Bee Fall is quite popular among tourists.

Denwa Backwaters: It is a pond like a dam built on the Denwa River. Since it is surrounded by the Satpura National Park, tourists can easily spot various animals while boating in it, especially the swamp crocodiles.

Rock Paintings: Apart from tigers, Satpura National Park is also famous for its rock paintings. There are more than 50 rock shelters in this park, which have rock paintings depicting different animals like elephant, tiger and deer. These paintings are believed to be 1500 to 10,000 years old and help in understanding the history of human evolution.
